The wrestling card guy — and proud of it
I'm a lifelong wrestling fan and card collector who finally combined the two best things in the world into one obsession. I've been watching wrestling since I was a kid, and collecting cards almost as long.
I set up at local card shows to share the cards I love with other people who love them too. It's not just a hobby — it's a community, and I'm happy to be a small part of it.
Whether you've been collecting since 1985 or you just picked up your first pack last week, you'll get the same treatment at my table: fair prices, honest talk, and zero snobbery.
The Monday Night Wars. When wrestling was appointment television. When you had to pick a side — WWF or WCW. When Goldberg was unstoppable and Stone Cold was drinking beer in the ring. Nothing has ever matched that energy.
Stone Cold Steve Austin. No contest. Nobody has ever connected with an audience the way Austin did. The beer, the stunners, the middle fingers, the relentless war against authority — pure, perfect professional wrestling.
Sami Zayn. The Honorary Uce. The underdog who became the most beloved babyface in WWE. His WrestleMania moment with Kevin Owens is everything I love about wrestling storytelling.
Steve Austin vs. The Rock at WrestleMania X-Seven. The greatest WrestleMania ever. Austin going heel by aligning with McMahon. The Texas crowd not knowing how to react. Pure chaos. Pure wrestling.
Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker — WrestleMania XXV. The greatest wrestling match I have ever seen. Bar none. If you haven't watched it, stop reading this and go watch it right now.
Raw and SmackDown every week. NXT when I can. I still love the current WWE product — the storytelling, the matches, the production. The Judgment Day, Gunther's reign, whatever Cody does next — I'm watching all of it.
I've been collecting long enough to see prices go up, prices go down, trends come and go. The one thing that never changes is how it feels to hold a card of a wrestler you've loved your whole life.
My advice: collect the wrestlers you love, not the wrestlers you think will make you money. If you love Bret Hart, collect Bret Hart. If you love Rhea Ripley, collect Rhea Ripley. The joy of the hobby comes from the connection — not the spreadsheet.
That said — buy ECW cards. Seriously. Nobody is paying attention to ECW cards right now and they're some of the rarest wrestling cards ever made. That won't last.
The Roman Reigns Tribal Chief saga was one of the best long-term wrestling stories ever told. Sami Zayn's Honorary Uce arc was comedy AND drama at the same time. WWE is firing on all cylinders.
Rhea Ripley. Bianca Belair. IYO SKY. Becky Lynch. The women's matches are consistently some of the best on the card. And their cards? Still undervalued compared to where they're going.
Week in, week out, NXT delivers. And it's loaded with future main roster stars — which means future key rookie cards. Pay attention to NXT. The cards tell the story first.
Two nights. Tens of thousands of fans. The biggest moments in wrestling. Every WrestleMania card I own means more after watching the show. That's the magic of collecting wrestling cards.
The Survivor Series return. Chicago going insane. His AEW cards. His 2024 Topps WWE cards. The reaction of a city that waited 10 years. That's why wrestling is the greatest entertainment there is.
Gunther. Damian Priest. LA Knight. Bronson Reed. Trick Williams. The future of WWE is stacked. And their rookie cards? Most of them are still sitting in dollar boxes at card shows. Get them now.
